Create a smart campaign
Derive a call-back list (everyone you never reached) or a referral list from an existing campaign, without touching the original.
A smart campaign is a campaign derived from an existing one. It fills itself according to a use case, and the original campaign is never modified — its numbers and its queue stay intact.
The two use cases
| Use case | What it creates |
|---|---|
| Call back everyone not reached | A list pre-filled with every contact of the source campaign you never got on the phone. |
| Referrals | An empty list, meant for the people you were told to call during the source campaign. |
Creating the smart campaign
- Open the source campaign (Campaigns → the campaign).
- Scroll down to the Smart campaigns section, then click New smart campaign.
- Pick the use case — it's mandatory, nothing is pre-selected.
- Name (optional): left empty, it becomes "Campaign name — Call-backs" or "Campaign name — Referrals".
- For a call-back list, set the max attempts per contact (5 by default).
- Create — you land straight on the new campaign.
The smart campaign is created active: it shows up right away in the campaign picker of the dialer. It also inherits the script and the caller number of the source campaign.
The Smart campaigns section only exists on an ordinary campaign: you can't derive a smart campaign from another smart campaign.
Who lands in a call-back list?
Every contact of the source campaign except the ones you reached.
- Reached = somebody picked up — a human or a switchboard.
- Not reached = voicemail / answering machine, no answer, busy, technical failure, or never called.
In other words: hitting voicemail doesn't count as a real contact, so the person stays on the call-back list.
If everybody in the source campaign has already been reached, creation fails with a message: there is nobody to call back.
Relaunching a pass
On a call-back list, the Relaunch a pass button replaces the Reset progress button of ordinary campaigns. It does two things:
- it pulls in the new contacts added to the source campaign since the last pass (the ones you still haven't reached);
- it re-queues the contacts that are still eligible.
A contact stays eligible as long as they have not been reached and are under the attempt cap. As soon as they pick up, or as soon as they hit the cap, they leave the list for good — so a dead number never loops forever.
Depending on the result, you'll see:
- "X contacts back in the queue";
- "X contacts back in the queue (Y new from the source campaign)";
- "Nobody left to call back — everyone was reached or hit the attempt cap."
Relaunching is manual, on purpose: you read the result of a pass before starting another one.
The referral list
It is created empty. Fill it like any other campaign, with the page's Add menu. It has no Relaunch a pass button — there are no "not reached" contacts to recompute.
Getting back to the source campaign
At the top of a smart campaign, a badge — "Call-backs from: …" or "Referrals from: …" — takes you back to the campaign it came from in one click.
