Calling zone & countries
Why some contacts show as "unreachable", and how to allow a destination country.
Paradialer enforces a calling zone: by default, a contact is only dialed if they're reachable from the selected caller number (same zone / country). Out-of-zone contacts show as unreachable and are skipped when a session starts.
Why a contact is "unreachable"
- Their number is in a different country from your caller number.
- As a result: they don't count towards reachable contacts, and a multi-dial mode may refuse to start if there aren't enough reachable lines.
Simple fix: pick a caller number in the same country as your contacts.
Allowing every country (operator option)
To call internationally from a single number, the "Allow all countries" option can be enabled on your organization by the Paradialer operator. Once it's on, the calling zone is no longer filtered on the application side.
Two levels to unlock
Turning on "Allow all countries" lifts the application-side filter. The destination country must also be allowed at the telecom carrier (see below), otherwise the network rejects the call.
Country blocked by the telecom carrier
Even with the calling zone open, a call can fail if the destination country isn't allowed on your outbound calling profile at the carrier (for example a "destination not allowed" style of error).
In that case, the destination has to be added to the list of allowed countries on your telecom account. If you hit this block, contact us with the country concerned.
